CHANGE/RECALC STATE UNEMPLOYMENT
If you receive notice that your unemployment rate has changed after the start of the calendar year, you will want to adjust your accrual and correct your jobcost labor burden figures. TACT can do this for you automatically. When you use this selection, you are prompted for the new rate for each state for which you are paying unemployment. The system then automatically changes the calculated unemployment amount on each payroll detail screen that is not yet posted to the General Ledger. This will then correct the jobcosting for those jobs. If you have already posted to the General Ledger in the calendar year, the system will automatically generate a General Journal entry to change the accrual and the expense for the posted period. A report is then printed showing all the changes made to each employees screens and also shows the General Journal entry made if necessary. |
